AretIN
AretIN is a dietary supplement with alpha-lipoic acid, in the form of gastro-resistant capsules, intended for the preservation and improvement of eye health, primarily in patients with diabetes (diabetic retinopathy). It can also be administered in other conditions that affect the eye, which are caused by oxidative stress, inflammatory processes, etc.
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a complication of diabetes, which affects the small blood vessels of the eye and is the most common cause of blindness in people under the age of 65. An increase in oxidative stress and a reduced level of antioxidants in the body play a major role in the development of DR.Alpha-lipoic acid is one of the strongest antioxidants and is an important factor in the fight against diseases caused by increased oxidative stress, especially in people with diabetes.
The results of clinical studies show that ALA alleviates the symptoms of some complications of diabetes, such as polyneuropathy, retinopathy, etc. It also speeds up glucose metabolism and increases the levels of other antioxidants in the body (e.g. vitamins C and E).
In addition to alpha-lipoic acid, AretIN also contains vitamin D (whose receptors have recently been localized in the eye), B vitamins, zinc, and rutin. Vitamin B2 contributes to the maintenance of normal vision, as well as zinc, the lack of which is common in diabetes. Zinc supplementation improves the condition of insulin resistance.
Rutin has an antioxidant effect and protects the small blood vessels of the eye.
Vitamin B12 and folic acid are contained in AretIN in their active forms (calcium-L-methylfolate and methylcobalamin). Together with vitamin B6, they influence the stabilization of homocysteine level, which is considered to further lead to blood vessel damage in patients with diabetes.
Method of use: adults – take 1 capsule a day half an hour before a meal.
